Family Peace of Mind
For adult children who worry about a parent living alone — especially from a distance. Our program provides regular wellness visits, safety checks, and detailed family reports so you always know how your loved one is doing.
What is Family Peace of Mind Program?
The Family Peace of Mind Program is designed specifically for adult children who are concerned about an aging parent — especially those who live out of town or out of state. We serve as your eyes, ears, and trusted presence on the ground. Through regular wellness visits, safety assessments, and detailed family communication, we help you stay informed and connected to your parent's daily life. This isn't surveillance — it's caring, human-centered support that gives both you and your parent peace of mind.

How It Works
Getting started is simple. Here's what to expect.
Family Consultation
We speak with you (the adult child) first to understand your concerns, your parent's situation, and what would give you peace of mind. Then we meet your parent for a friendly introduction.
Baseline Assessment
During the first visit, we do a comprehensive wellness and safety assessment of your parent and their home. This becomes the baseline we measure future observations against.
Regular Visits Begin
Your parent receives regular visits from the same caring team member. Each visit includes conversation, observation, and a written report sent to you within 24 hours.
Ongoing Communication
You receive visit reports, monthly summaries, and immediate alerts if we notice anything concerning. We become your trusted partner in caring for your parent.
What Families Say About Family Peace of Mind Program
“Living out of state, I was constantly worried about my mother. The Family Peace of Mind program gives me weekly updates and I finally sleep at night knowing she's safe and someone is checking on her.”
Susan T.
Lives in Virginia (parent in Troy, NY)
“The visit reports are incredible — detailed, honest, and compassionate. They noticed my dad was having trouble with stairs before he did. That early observation may have prevented a serious fall.”
Elizabeth P.
Lives in Boston (parent in Albany, NY)
“Even though I live nearby, I can't check on my mom every day. The Peace of Mind program fills the gap. The monthly summary helps me see trends I wouldn't notice in quick visits.”

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about our Family Peace of Mind Program.
My parent says they don't need help. Will they accept this?
This is the most common concern we hear. We position our visits as "friendly check-ins" rather than caregiving. Most seniors welcome the company and conversation. We're trained to build trust gradually and respect your parent's independence.
What does a typical visit report include?
Reports include observations about your parent's physical appearance, mood and alertness, home condition, nutritional indicators, any concerns noted, and activities during the visit. We also include positive observations — things that went well.
What happens if you notice something concerning?
If we observe anything that raises concern (a fall risk, signs of confusion, missed medications, unusual behavior), we contact you immediately by phone. For urgent safety issues, we follow our emergency protocol, which includes contacting 911 if necessary.
How is this different from companion care?
The Peace of Mind Program is specifically designed for family communication and monitoring. While companion care focuses on social engagement during longer visits, Peace of Mind centers on structured wellness assessment and regular reporting to family members. Many families use both.
I live in California. Can you still help my parent in Troy?
Absolutely — this program was built for long-distance families. It doesn't matter where you live. We serve seniors throughout the Capital Region and communicate with family members anywhere in the country.
Can you help coordinate with my parent's doctor?
Yes. With your parent's consent, we can attend doctor appointments, share our wellness observations with their healthcare team, and help ensure medical instructions are being followed at home.
